CIVIL RIGHTS VS HUMAN RIGHTS
Reading the two articles on human rights and civil rights have made realize that their is a difference among these two. It seemed like in the 60s civil rights meant more to all colored races than it did to whites. They fought for their civil rights to be equal among everyone no matter your skin color. Whites did not have to fight for these rights as much as they did. It seems like civil rights go along the side of politics and one whole nation. As for human rights I see it as humans who appear or are seen different by others fighting for their rights such as gays, muslims, blacks, etc. There are still people who discriminate these sexualities, cultures and races. I feel we should consider these rights different because when I think of civil rights I see it as colored races fighting for equality, but as for human rights I think of all different races, cultures, sexualities, etc being discriminated.

ABOUT ME
Hello my name is Matthew Guzman and I am a student at California State Northridge. I was born in the bay area and moved to Southern California in 2006 and have lived in Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village ever since. I would say I am a humble and friendly person who is open to new things. I love sports especially football, basketball and baseball. In high school I played football for 4 years and was a runningback, running across the field for those touchdowns. I also came across track for 2 years which I really enjoyed getting to use my speed to compete with other fast athletes. I am also really into comic superheroes in Marvel and DC comics, their movies are awesome. Right now my major is mechanical engineering, but am looking to pursue my major in Art focused on Graphic design. From this English class I expect to become a better writer and explore a wider vocabulary I can use in my essays. That's my main goal this semester to go beyond my capabilities in writing.
